Enrique Alfonso Rodríguez

The main objective of my work is to tell stories, always addressing the deep issues of human consciousness, feelings, fears, dreams and longings. Always from the way I perceive the world. I build these real or fictional environments, in which I place my magical characters almost always women. This theatricality is born many times from memories of my childhood giving it the innocence and tenderness that I seek to impress on my work, and which is already part of my creative philosophy. The stories for children, the ones I read in my childhood come in the form of images that only a child he can create, the ones I read as an adult inspire me, and all this is shaping my work. Objects or vintage wardrobes that I often had to live with as a child, are consciously used as symbols to support my stories. I see each of my works as a trace that as a testimony tells my journey through the lifetime.

Art is the lie that reveals truth.
